AW "The referee influenced the game in completely the wrong way, in my opinion, we had a good first half & in the second half we were tired. We lost the game because we were down to 10 men, when you played 48 hours before it’s too difficult! After Djourou was booked they tried to get him the 2nd card & it worked!" Aly Cissokho loan bid! Richardson, Sow Linked!

  • Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has launched an amazing attack on ref Lee Probert after defeat to Fulham.
Steve Sidwell and Bobby Zamora netted in the final minutes of the match to secure Fulham a 2-1 win, with the catalyst seemingly Johan Djourou's red card for a second bookable offence 12 minutes before time.

"The referee influenced the game in completely the wrong way, in my opinion," Wenger said.

"We cannot influence that.

"We had a good first half and in the second half we were tired in the last 10 minutes. We lost the game because we were down to 10 men.

"The first yellow card was not a yellow card. The second yellow card was a foul for us.

"There was a 100% penalty for us in the first half and that is that, plus the fact we did not take our chances in the first half made the difference.

"In the end I think it was very unlucky to lose a game with 10 men.

"When you see that we finished the game with 10 men it is very difficult to take and that makes a massive difference when you played 48 hours before. It is too difficult."
  • Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger blasted Fulham's players after Johan Djourou's dismissal last night.
Wenger apportioned some blame on Fulham, whom he claimed had attempted to get Djourou sent off.

"When Djourou got the first card, every time he intervened they went down to get him a second yellow and he did nothing at all," he said.

"I saw it coming, you know. When they brought on [Kerim] Frei they looked for a second yellow card on Djourou and they got it."

He added: "I do not need to make stories for newspapers. I tell you the game I have seen. I don't care about the rest.

"I just felt that every time Djourou was on the fringe to get the second. You can watch the game [again]."

  • Arsene Wenger will chase French left-back Aly Cissokho in the transfer window, with Wayne Bridge off the cards for Arsenal as a result of his wage demands.

Rumours were flying around last week claiming that Bridge was set for a possible loan deal with the Gunners, as Kieran Gibbs suffered a setback in his recovery from injury.

Cissokho has starred for Lyon in their defensive line up since moving to the club from Porto in 2009. With one international cap to his name, the 24 year old is hoping to move into the Premier League in the hopes of furthering his career.

"This week, I will speak with the Lyon staff. I reckon I prefer England, but for now, there is nothing done," Cissokho revealed as speculation connects the star to Arsenal.

The question will be whether Lille are willing to send Cissokho out on loan, with Wenger mindful of the fact that Vermaelen and Gibbs will both be back in contention for a place in the starting line up by the end of the month.

Arsenal have already revealed that they are close to signing Thierry Henry on a loan spell, and while the club did most of their business at the last minute of the summer transfer window, Wenger appears more likely to do some big business early on in this one.
  • Arsenal are lining up a shock move for Sunderland midfielder Kieran Richardson.
The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a fan of the former West Ham trainee who was snapped up by Manchester United as a kid.

Richardson has two goals this season and has been a regular in Sunderland's side.

But his potential sale would give new boss Martin O'Neill funds for rebuilding.

Richardson has been at Sunderland since 2007 after joining from Man United for £5.5million.

  • Arsenal are still keen on Lille's prolific striker Moussa Sow and could make a move in the January transfer window.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a big admirer of the 25-year-old, he is ready to step up his interest with an offer.

Sow, who scored 25 league goals last season as Lille won their first Ligue 1 title since 1954, has previously expressed his desire to join Arsenal.

"My dream is to play in the Premier League, because you progress as a player with the atmosphere, goals and game," he said last November.

"I watch the games with envy on TV. I desire to play there one day. Arsenal are a big club. But we will see."

Despite Thierry Henry returning from New York Red Bulls for a two month loan spell, Wenger is eager to add permanent firepower to his squad.

FC Koln striker Lukas Podolski is another striker widely tipped to join the Gunners, but Sow is also reportedly being considered.

Lille will be reluctant to lose another of their star forwards following Gervinho's departure to Arsenal in the summer, but it is thought an offer of £15m could tempt them into doing business.
