  • Arsenal crock Jack Wilshere is set to miss the season.
Wilshere looks almost certain to miss the rest of the season after scans showed his latest injury setback is worse than first feared.

The 20-year-old is now very doubtful for England’s Euro 2012 campaign as he is unlikely to feature at all for his club this season.

Wilshere has missed the entire campaign with a stress fracture of his right ankle, which needed surgery.

He was expected to return this month but broke down in training last week.
  • Thomas Eisfeld has spoken out about his transfer from German champions Borussia Dortmund to Arsenal.
The 19-year old German youth international midfielder made the move to the Gunners today on a long-term contract for a reported compensation fee of around £450,000 and is looking forward to his future in North London.

"I feel very proud to have signed for Arsenal. This is a great club, with many great players, and I’m so happy to be joining Arsenal,” he said.

“It’s a real honour to be team mates with the great players at Arsenal, and also training everyday with players like Tomas Rosicky - who I grew up watching play at Dortmund. I will give it everything I have here and do my best to make the manager, players and fans happy."
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger admitted that the signing of Eisfeld is one for the future.

"Thomas is a player we have liked for some time. We’ve watched him closely this season, where he has excelled for Dortmund’s youth team,” the Frenchman said.

“He is young but has proven to us that he can play, that he has the attitude and technical ability to be a valuable addition to our squad. We’re very pleased to welcome him to the Club and look forward to his contribution in the coming seasons."
  • Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs has given the club a boost by returning to full training.
The 22-year old left-back has been sidelined with a string of injuries this season which has restricted him to just five Premier League appearances but he is close to a comeback with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger confirming his return to the training ground.

“He had a normal training session yesterday,” Wenger said.

“He is still short [of match fitness to be ready] to play now but it is good news to have him back and I think one or two more weeks' practice will get him back to being available again. That is very positive.”
  • Fulham have been unsuccessful in a bid to get striker Park Chu-young on loan from Arsenal.
The Cottagers were looking to take the South Korea captain for the remainder of the season but the Gunners are keen on keeping him at the Emirates Stadium.

Park has been used sparingly by Arsene Wenger so far this season but Arsenal’s rejection of the loan bid indicates that the Frenchman may look to use him in the second half of the season.
  • Bolton manager Owen Coyle is hoping to give Arsenal’s Ryo Miyaichi a good platform for the future.
The Japanese youngster has joined the Trotters on loan until the end of the season and will look to improve his game under Coyle who has overseen fellow Gunners youngster Jack Wilshere in the past.

"He's a very talented young player, who is quick and exciting," Coyle said.

"He had a great spell on loan at Feyenoord last season.

"He's a young player with tremendous promise and potential and hopefully at Bolton we can give him a platform on which he can display his qualities.
