  • Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has bet Tottenham fans they won't finish above the Gunners this season.
Spurs are being tipped by many to gatecrash the top four for the second time in three seasons.

But Arsenal's Wilshere has promised to put his money where his mouth is and donate £3,000 to charity if the White Hart Lane club finish above his own.

He tweeted: "All spurs fans buzzing that they are ahead of us in the league (for once). Its a marathon, not a sprint!

"I tell you what at the end of the season if spurs finish above arsenal I will give £3000 to charity and if arsenal finish above spurs every spurs fan that follows me must send me a pound each and I will give it to the Jack Marshall charity!"
  • Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has joined the chorus of those praising striker Robin van Persie.
The Gunners skipper scored his 12th and 13th league goals of the season in the 2-1 victory overNorwich City on the weekend and his performance, along with almost every other game he has played this season, was applauded by Ramsey who feels the North Londoners are capable of pushing into the top echelon of teams on the table.

"Robin is in unbelievable form at the moment. He is putting them all away," he said.

"Full credit to the team, we are supplying him and he is finishing them. We are delighted with the way we are playing and hopefully we can continue that.

"We are on a good run and we have to go into every game now believing we can win, progress and hope that other teams might drop some points.
  • Aaron Ramsey is excited by the current scoring power at Arsenal.
Although two goals were enough to see off Norwich City in the end, the Wales captain believes it should have been more.

“So many players were making runs forward and getting into dangerous positions,” Ramsey said. “On the whole we played some really good stuff on Saturday.

“It's encouraging that we created all those opportunities - this is a run we want to continue.

“We created a lot of opportunities and could have scored a lot more than we did. But I thought we did really well, looked solid at the back again and we're on a good run of form.

“We have to go into every game now believing we can win, progress and hope that other teams might drop some points,” he added.

“Hopefully then we can close the gap.”
  • Aaron Ramsey says Arsenal's form reversal is down to the summer signings now bedding down.
Ramsey feels the critics were too quick to write off Arsenal's chances, however, and now believes new additions such as Gervinho,

Andre Santos and Mikel Arteta have settled nicely in to the Gunners' style of play.

"We are getting a better understanding of each other in this team now and we are gelling together," the Wales captain said.

"There has been a lot of change here so it was natural to take time for people to bond and gel. In the last month we have definitely been doing that and hopefully now the team can continue its form."
  • Arsenal winger Theo Walcott believes the club can continue winning as they get set to take onBorussia Dortmund on Wednesday night.
The Gunners have won seven of their last eight in all competitions and after beating Norwich City 2-1 on the weekend, Walcott feels the North Londoners are in good shape to add to their eight Group F points in the Champions League especially if skipper Robin van Persie can continue his stellar form.

“We are playing beautiful football at this moment in time,” Walcott said.

“Robin up front makes our jobs so much easier. He’s one of the best strikers in the world right now.

“We can keep on winning.”

Arsenal top their group after four matches with Dortmund sitting third with four points from their four outings.
  • Per Mertesacker has no problem from Arsenal fans' new blue chant for him.
Arsenal fans tribute to the 6-foot-6 centre back goes: “Big f***ing German, we’ve got a big f***ing German”.

Mertesacker certainly didn’t seem to mind when it was aired at Norwich on Saturday, laughing and acknowledging the crowd with a thumbs-up.
  • Arsenal are competing with Bayern Munich for Bundesliga stars Mario Gotze and Marco Reus.
Bayern have earmarked the pair as potential transfer targets but both are also wanted by Arsene Wenger.

Gotze scored Borussia Dortmund's winner against Munich on Saturday.

Reus, 22, who scored a hat-trick in Borussia Moenchengladbach's 5-0 demolition of Werder Bremen, has also captured Bayern's attention.

"Gotze is a magnificent player despite being only 19 years old. Of course we observe such players," Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

"Reus has a clause in his contract that isn't exactly cheap (but) he could give us even more quality in the long run."
  • Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could be the big spender of the January market.
Borussia Dortmund star Mario Goetze is Arsene Wenger’s top transfer target as he looks to fill the creative void left by the summer departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

Wenger has £50m to spend on boosting his squad and is willing to use a hefty portion to lure Goetz
  • Arsenal are delighted to announce that Nico Yennaris has extended his contract with the Club.
The versatile 18-year-old, who is comfortable playing across the defence or in midfield, made his first-team debut at right back in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers in the Carling Cup Fourth Round last month, playing the full 90 minutes.

The England youth international rose through the Club’s Hale End academy to sign professional terms in July 2010, having joined the Club aged just seven.

He captained Steve Bould’s Under-18s to the Premier Academy League title in 2010, and is now a regular for the Reserves, whom he has represented on 18 occasions.
  • Vito Mannone is ready to leave Arsenal.
Mannone has told Arsene Wenger: Play me or sell me.

Arsenal's reserve keeper, 23, said: "The ideal situation would be to let me go on loan and then make it permanent."
