  • Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen admits last night's 0-0 draw with Marseille was a tough shift.
Vermaelen played his first full 90 minutes since returning from injury.

He said: "It was hard work today. They (Marseille) are a good side with good players on the pitch and we had to work hard for this point.

"In the second half we had moments where we dominated the play but didn't score."
  • Arsenal winger Theo Walcott admitted frustration after their 0-0 draw with Champions League opponents Marseille.
Walcott admitted to feeling some frustration after the Gunners failed to make the most of home advantage against Marseille and book their spot in the last 16 of the Champions League.

When asked if he was frustrated at not being able to qualify, Walcott said: "Of course, we had the home support, we need to be winning our home matches, but yet again we were solid at the back, we managed to keep a clean sheet, but our strikers didn't manage to get it in the net this time.

"But it's a point and all we can do is look forward to the weekend now."
  • Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is happy with the progress of Andre Santos.
The Brazilian left-back is beginning to bed down after arriving in August.

"I am happy when he has the ball. I feel personally he is much better defensively than many people think. He is getting stronger in every game. He is a very intelligent boy who learns very quickly and obviously he has to adapt to the pace of the English game. That is not easy, to play game after game," said Wenger.
  • Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he wanted more from Ju Young Park in their 0-0 draw with Marseille.
Park struggled to get into the game last night.

"He did very well last week. Tonight you could see that he lacked the pace of the game a little bit because he has not played enough games," Wenger said.
  • Arsenal winger Theo Walcott is happy to see Thomas Vermaelen back in action.
Vermaelen played his first full 90 minutes since returning from injury in the 0-0 draw with Marseille.

Walcott said: "It's nice that we're getting a lot of players back to fitness now. Obviously Thomas has been a
massive miss and players who have come in have done a fantastic job.

"It just shows how much competition there is in each position and everyone needs to be on their toes, and you are now fighting for your position because it's up for grabs."
  • Arsenal captain Robin van Persie says he's happy to share his joy with the fans.
Van Persie gave his shirt to a delighted Arsenal fan after victory at Chelsea.

"You could see what it meant to us at full-time [at Chelsea] and I wanted to share that with the fans," he said.

"I wanted the team and the fans to come together. They have really been helping us lately – they have been great. Even during the game on Saturday when we were behind, and when we were brought back to 3-3 our fans were really supporting us. So that’s why I went straight for them when I scored and again at full-time.

"Before that game we had won seven out of eight matches, but everyone was looking for the big one. Don’t get me wrong, every game is big, but this was extra big because everyone was looking at us to see if we could do it, away at somewhere like Chelsea.

"It was a crazy game, but in the end it was all good for us because we got the win, but we also sent out a message to the world, because I don’t think many teams can score five away to Chelsea."
  • Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny feels he's now in the best form of his career.
The 26-year-old has won praise from Arsène Wenger in recent weeks and he believes he is playing like never before.

“I feel I'm in the best form of my life,” Koscielny said. “I've improved a lot. I keep working on the basics, my controls and my passes.

“I'm also more rigorous. I make less fouls and get less booked as I needed time to adapt to England. I also cope better with the pressure of playing in a very big club. And I know I can improve even more.

“Chelsea was one of the best performances of my career, along with the win against Barcelona at home last season,” he added. “Most importantly it's a win that will bring the team together even more and will bring great confidence.”
  • Arsenal attacker Andrey Arshavin is convinced they're now on the way up.
The Russian believes the Gunners can push on now the team’s new faces have had time to bed in.

“I’ve had much worse starts to be honest – at Zenit we once lost three or four games in a row right at the beginning,” he said. “But normally when my teams start badly we end up being happy with how things have ended up, so I’m hoping that pattern continues this time.

“Most of all I think we were missing players – in terms of new faces coming in and establishing a settled side.

“That was rectified within weeks as our signings have come in and spent time here, we’ve benefited – and we’ll see exactly how good our squad is at the end of the season.”
  • Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Abou Diaby will be sidelined for at least three more weeks.
The 25-year old French midfielder is yet to make an appearance for the Gunners this season after undergoing ankle surgery in the summer but will have to wait a bit longer to taste action this term after injuring his hamstring.

"You won't see him for a while, the next three weeks," Wenger told reporters. "He will not play for France either.

"I am worried but I was more worried three months ago. His ankle was not good but the surgery went very well then.

"Now his balance has changed so he has to adjust his muscular strength. He has had two small muscular concerns and if he can get rid of them in the next two to three weeks he will be ready.

"It's a good time to get him right as we have a two-week break after Saturday."
  • Arsenal majority shareholder Stan Kroenke says Chelsea fans envy their economic model.
For Sunday's win, Kroenke had "got out and walked" to Stamford Bridge, as it had been a fine day, and that he had been recognised by supporters.

"The Chelsea fans were fine. They were talking to me a little bit about the stadium. They care about it. It is interesting that they can see with our stadium that, as a fan, they like seeing things like that. It has been developed, we have a strong economic model, which is something they don't have, and it is something they are interested in."
  • Arsenal are taking three Indonesian teenagers for trials with their U15 team.

"I was shocked because I was told I will play with the Arsenal team - without any warning!" said Dani Raharjanto.

Tunus Garuda chairman Anas Urbaningrum said: "They're all incredibly talented. But they're not alone. We have some others here with great potential."
